Brunnerkogel Ski Tour, 2,606 m
From the Dorfertal parking lot, keep left at the Hotel Taurerwirt—either take the ski trail or follow the Teischnitzbach stream downstream to the Gschlöss playground, there, cross the open terrain heading west and climb up a gentle slope toward the west along a forest trail through the woods. Keep to the right, following a rugged stream bed, climbing steeply in places until you reach the alpine pastures at 1,900 m. Continue across the meadows toward the Pahlalm. Pass it on the left and, keeping to the left, reach the Kerer-Hochalm. Pass the alp and continue across the expansive slopes directly to the Hochtor. Over the ridge (caution: wind-blown snow drifts!), you’ll reach the summit of the Brunnerkogel on the right (northwest).
Descent options:
The descent follows the same route as the ascent. At the alpine pastures at approximately 1,900 m, you can also take a forest trail leading south until you reach a ski run. From there, you can ski back down via a ski trail toward the Taurerwirt and the Dorfertal parking lot. 200 m above the lift station, you can ski down to the Taurerwirt via a cross-country ski trail.
