Appropriate equipment such as breathable suitable outdoor clothes for the weather, wind-, rain-, snow- and sun protection, hat and gloves is for all hikes and tours necessary. Please bring a first-aid box, a mobile phone, a walking map and if there is no hut on the way a snack and enough to drink.Directly from the car park Sennhof you follow the wide forest road which takes you gently ascending into the valley next to Horlachbach brook. After about an hour you get to Larstigalm (1.778 hm) on the right. Another hour walk leads a bit steeper up to Schweinfurter Hut (2.028 hm) towering on a panoramic saddleback below Sömenspitze summit. In winter the mountains around the hut are among the quietest within Ötztal. Therefore the hut is considered a true heaven for the winter walkers, tobogganers, snowshoe hikers and ski mountaineers.
Travel safe and comfortable with the train to the Ötztal Bahnhof train station. Last stop and exit point is the train station Ötztal Bahnhof. Afterwards you can travel smoothly and quick with the public transport or out local taxi companies through the valley to your desired destination.
