Moderately difficult snowshoe hike to the Rauth hut.
The route leads through open, unmarked terrain and is not maintained.
Good personal preparation and the right equipment are especially important for snowshoe hiking. Before starting the tour, it's essential to check the current avalanche report. Since the terrain is unmarked, downloading the GPX data for the route is recommended. Additionally, the SOS EU-ALP app, developed for mountain emergencies, is recommended.
Lightweight and stable snowshoes, adjusted to body weight. Telescopic poles for better grip and added stability. This equipment can be rented at numerous sports shops in the region.
Multiple layers of clothing, warm gloves, a hat, a waterproof jacket and pants, as well as winter hiking boots, are recommended.
The snowshoe hike starts at the Ropferstub'm and first follows Trail No. 27 through the snowy landscape to the main road. After crossing the road, the route continues along Trail No. 24 to the winter idyll of Katzenloch.
From there, Trail No. 99 leads up to the Rauthhütte, where hikers can take a well-deserved break. The descent follows the old lift track, winding through the deeply snow-covered winter landscape down to Leutasch/Moos. Since the traditional hut also has a spectacular natural toboggan run, you might consider bringing a sled along for the way down.
At the finish, near Parking Lot 18 'Munde,' you'll find the Mundestadl restaurant, where regional delicacies await to satisfy your appetite.
Take the bus to Buchen to the 'Buchener Höhe' bus stop, then a 10-minute walk to the starting point at Ropferstub'm.

From Innsbruck or from the direction of Landeck/Reschen, take the Inntal Autobahn A12 to the Telfs-Ost exit, then continue through Telfs and up the Telfer Berg to Buchen. From Garmisch, travel via Mittenwald to Scharnitz, then continue through Seefeld to Buchen.
Drive up the Telfer Berg until you reach the village of Buchen. Near the Interalpen-Hotel Tyrol, you will find Parking Lot P7 Buchener Höhe.
