Description

The Rauthhütte, built in 1928, sits at the foot of the Hohe Munde at 1605 m and offers a fantastic panorama over the open Leutaschtal. Those who take a few more steps will reach the viewpoint Zugspitzblick from where one can see far over the Wetterstein Mountains to the Zugspitze. The sun terrace is popular among hikers in the summer and is especially favored by ski tourers, tobogganists, and snowshoe hikers in the winter. It is not uncommon to observe the paragliders taking off from the nearby ramp. When it gets colder, two lounges invite you to enjoy the excellent cuisine . Awarded by Gault Millau, the alpine inn offers various temptations. The dumpling variations and homemade cakes are particularly recommended. The family-friendly hut is especially comfortable for children. If there is still energy left after the ascent, there is the children's playground to play in. The Rauthhütte is accessible on foot or by (e-)bike, with charging options available, but you must bring your own charger.

OVERNIGHT STAY
The Rauthhütte offers 7 rooms with a total of 20 beds and a mattress dormitory for around 60 people. Overnight stays are possible by arrangement from Thursday to Sunday. No overnight stays in winter. Dogs on request.
