Snowshoe hike from the Liftstüberl car park in Steinberg. The trail goes through quiet forest areas up to the Kotalm (1,449m). About 420 metres of elevation gain.
This snowshoe tour, which leads mostly through forest terrain, starts from the Liftstüberl car park. Walk uphill for about 200 metres along the right side of the ski slope. The route leads up to the Gfaßsattel (wayside cross), walking time ca. 30 minutes. Follow the signs in the direction of (Steinberger) Kotalm - Unutz. After ca. 1.5 hours, you arrive at the Kotalm (not serviced). The return is via the same route. Alternatively, walk left below the decrepit Kotalm and follow the trail to Steinberg (see signposts). After ca. 1.5 hours, you reach the forest road. Turn right and head back to the car park.
Special notice: Please respect wildlife and be quiet around deer feeding stations. Walking time varies depending on snow conditions.
Walking time to the Steinberger Kotalm: 2 hours. Walking time back to Steinberg: ca. 1.5 hours.
Arrival by regional bus: Take line 4080 to Achenkirch, change to line 7801 towards Steinberg and travel to the stop "Steinberg a. R. Rofanlift II" (Rofanlift II car park). Return: From the stop "Achenkirch Abzw Christlumlifte" take line 4080, then in Achenkirch at the stop "Abzw Steinberg a. R." change to line 7801.
