Description

From the starting point, first follow the road into the valley for a short distance (depending on the snow conditions, you can already put on your snowshoes), then climb up to the left along the road next to the piste, walk across the "Grazanne" meadows with stables into the valley and follow the yellow hiking trail signs in the direction of the Trunahütte at the forest. After some time on the forest road, you can continue on the shorter trail (somewhat steeper) until you meet the forest road again further up. Then continue uphill along the path, past the Trunahütte (not managed in winter), where the forest thins out and you can continue trudging across the open alpine pastureland in a southerly direction. You pass a stable building and then it is only a few metres to the Trunaalm hut. If you are fit and motivated, you can continue the last 250 metres in altitude over open, moderately steep terrain to the Trunajoch. The way back is via the same path - however, you can also take the flatter forest path out. Once you have reached the bottom, it is worthwhile to stop for a warm break in the Trins lift restaurant.
