A little-used and quiet snowshoe hike via the Kalte Herberge to below the Hoher Napf. The little pilgrimage church lies in a clearing in the mostly beautifully snow-covered forest and has just been renovated. Stop for refreshments at the Gasthaus Olpererblick in Toldern.
From the car park at the beginning of the Wildlahnertal valley, cross a bridge and walk along a wide forest path to the Kalte Herberge pilgrimage church. From the little church, follow trail no. 70 (toboggan run) in a south-westerly direction until you reach a striking forest aisle. From there, climb steeply southeastwards to the forest boundary and across open spaces to approx. 1,860m. The trail then leads westwards along the edge of the forest and flat to the Zirmahütte at 1,848m.
The descent is via marked trail no. 71 in a westerly direction. Once you reach the forest road (70), you descend northwest to the Kalte Herberge and from there down to the starting point in the Wildlahnertal valley.
