Ski Resorts in Itter

The small village of Itter offers skiers and snowboarders a quiet, relaxing basecamp with direct access to the huge SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental ski network with its wide range of pistes catering for all abilities. As such, Itter is the ideal place for families and those in search of a little peace and quiet on holiday.

From Itter the Salvista-Godelbahn cable car takes wintersports enthusiasts into the SkiWelt. From the top of this cable car there is an intermediate run with fantastic views leading back down into the valley. All in all the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental has around 90 lifts and cable cars, 70 huts and a huge variety of pistes. One of the highest and most spectacular mountains in the resort is the Hohe Salve (1,829m), from which there are connections .to Hopfgarten and Söll.

The rotating terrace and the summit restaurant at the top of the Hohe Salve mountain guarantee fabulous views of the Kitzbühel Alps, the Wilder Kaiser Mountains and the Hohen Tauern Mountains. From the summit of the Hohe Salve there is the Black Eagle piste, a south-facing black run leading towards Hochbrixen. Another challenge for experienced skiers and boarders is the Black Pipe, an ungroomed ski route to Hochsöll with a gradient of up to 80%.

Children and beginners can practise on the gentle slopes in Itter where there is plenty of space. One of these slopes is next to the cable car, the other is a little further away and leads down to the village where there is also a ski school and an equipment hire shop. There is also a separate practice area for children with a conveyor belt lift. Snowboarders will find several funparks in the SkiWelt, such as the Boarders' Playground in Westendorf and the Crazy Kangaroo Park in Söll, which also has jumps and obstacles for beginners and children.
