Seefeld in Tyrol

In Seefeld, you can enjoy outdoor activities all year round - hiking tours and bike tours in summer; cross-country skiing, winter hiking and skiing in Seefeld's ski areas in winter. It's also worth taking a stroll through the village and simply enjoying the view of the mountains from below.

Seefeld is called Seefeld because the village got its name from the nearby Wildsee lake. As early as 1022, a "Sevelt" was mentioned, which means "field by the lake" and most likely goes back to the lake and the location of the village.

Seefeld is particularly well known for cross-country skiing: In Seefeld and throughout the region, people of all levels and abilities will find very good conditions. Biathlon and Nordic combined are also trained here. World Cup competitions and world championships are also regularly held here.

A visit to Seefeld is worthwhile at any time of year. Whether hiking tours or mountain biking in summer or cross-country skiing or winter hiking in winter, you will certainly not get bored here. Of course, you can also ski in Seefeld's ski areas.

Our recommendations for bad weather: a cultural excursion to the Ganghofer Museum, a good meal - for example at the vegan restaurant Aufatmen - or shopping with regional products in the Leutasch farm shop. If you prefer to take it easy, you can also spend the day at the Alpenbad Leutasch or the Olympiabad Seefeld.

On hot days, Lake Möserer See is ideal for a refreshing dip. In bad or cold weather, you can swim in the ErlebnisWelt Alpenbad Leutasch or the Olympiabad Seefeld.

We think: all hikes are beautiful and have something special! But the Karwendel Höhenweg, the summit hikes to the Reither Spitze or the Pleisenspitze are particularly popular in Seefeld, but short hikes such as through the Leutascher Geisterklamm or the Gleirschklamm are also particularly worthwhile.
