Seefeld

A haven for cross-country skiers: Situated on a sunny plateau high above Innsbruck, the village of Seefeld is without a doubt one of, if not the, leading cross-country skiing centre in the world.

Beginners and experts alike will find kilometre upon kilometre of perfectly prepared trails winding their way across the flat plains and up into the dense forests. Seefeld hosted the Nordic disciplines at the 1964 and 1976 Winter Olympics and regularly welcomes the world’s best cross-country skiers and biathlon specialists for World Cup events.

The village itself is luxurious and exclusive. There are few other places in Austria with such a high density of four-star and five-star hotels as Seefeld. And yet, at the same time, visitors and locals will find plenty of fun activities such as tobogganing and skiing in winter and everything from gentle walks to challenging high-alpine hikes in summer. Thanks to its protected location, Seefeld is one of the most snowsure resorts anywhere in Austria but also one of the few which manages to attract as many guests in summer as in winter.
