Shopping in Tirol

Shopping in Tirol certainly isn't restricted to the region's towns and cities. While there are indeed plenty of options for retail therapy in places like Innsbruck, Kufstein and Schwaz, many of Tirol's smaller towns and villages are also home to stylish boutiques with unique local products.

Wood, leather, glass or felt – Tirol has a long and proud of tradition using the finest produce from the region to make high-quality and long-lasting products which are often handed down from one generation to the next. This local pride is combined with a cosmopolitan approach that has seen influences from around the globe give inspiration to local craftsmen and craftswomen. Centuries ago they would look over the border to the neighbouring regions in Switzerland, Germany and Italy to identify new trends and techniques. These would then be mixed with Tirolean designs and methods to create a unique fusion. Today, Tirol is still home to many handicraft companies both big and small which continue this tradition and set new standards in innovation and creativity.
