Skiing in Söll

Söll is without a doubt one of the most busy and buzzing wintersports resorts in the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental. The wide range of pistes around the village of Hochsöll offers something for skiers and boarders of all ages and abilities, from families with children to experts in search of a new challenge. There is also plenty of cosy bars and huts next to the slopes on the Hohe Salve mountain.

With around 90 lifts and cable cars, 70 huts and a huge variety of pistes, the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental is one of the largest interconnected ski networks in the whole of Austria. A gondola transports skiers from Söll up to Hochsöll. From there, they can take another lift all the way up to the highest point in the SkiWelt, the peak of the Hohe Salve mountain. Up here at 1,829 metres above sea level there are breathtaking views of the Kitzbühel Alps, the Wilder Kaiser Mountains and the Hohe Tauern Mountains. One of the most challenging and thrilling ways of getting back down is via the Black Eagle piste, a steep but grippy south-facing slope leading towards the resort of Hochbrixen. Those in search of a little off-piste action should try the Black Pipe, an unprepared ski route to Hochsöll with a gradient of up to 80%.

Children, beginners and those getting back into snowsports after a while away will find everything they need in Söll with its sports shop, equipment hire shop and easy practice area next to the bottom of the cable cars. There is also a ski school nearby with professional instructors. The Kinderland Kornkammer offers childcare and the Hexenkinderland at the mid-way station of the cable car has two adventure trails for children with plenty of energy left to burn.
