Skiing in St. Johann in Tirol

Easy slopes for beginners, plenty of cruising for intermediate skiers, funparks for budding freestylers and plenty of restaurants serving hearty local food make the resort of St. Johann in Tirol a great place for families keen to carve their turns on the famous Kitzbüheler Horn mountain.

St. Johann in Tirol is a good place for families and all those who enjoy a slower pace on the pistes. The Harschbichlbahn cable car gives skiers quick and easy access from the village to the Kitzbüheler Horn mountain, where you will find plenty of skiing on the western slopes up to 1,600 metres above sea level. Most of the slopes are relatively easy, though there is a FIS race piste – the only black run in the resort – for those in search of a challenge. There are restaurants throughout the resort serving hearty local food. Families with young children keen to find a practice area with even more space for those first tentative turns on snow can travel to nearby Kirchdorf, where there is a special learning area for kids and adults new to snowsports.
