All eyes in the mountain bike world will turn to Tirol in early October, as Crankworx, the world’s biggest gravity-fuelled mountain bike festival, descends on Innsbruck.
After making its debut in 2017, Crankworx Innsbruck will be back in 2020 with gravity-defying action and breathtaking tricks by the world’s top freestyle mountain bikers amidst the spectacular scenery of Muttereralm Park above Innsbruck. This year, Innsbruck is the only European stop of the Crankworx World Tour. Thousands of spectators are expected to join the 2020 event. Crankworx Innsbruck brings the world’s Downhill, Slopestyle, Speed & Style, Whip Off and Pump Track Challenge legends together with the fans, rising stars, industry innovators and the next generation of mountain bike riders for five days of competition, concerts, and mountain bike culture.
Known as the “Super Bowl of freeride mountain biking”, Crankworx began in Whistler, Canada, in 2004. The 2020 Crankworx World Tour travels to Rotorua, New Zealand, Innsbruck, Austria and culminates in its Canadian hometown of Whistler, BC.
The festival is staged in Muttereralm Mountain Bike Park, and in Götzens. With a full complement of “Kidsworx” events, concerts and its own showcase of the sport’s creative side, Innsbruck is the place to experience how the Tiroleans revel in the cult of the fat tire. Not able to make the trek to see Crankworx Innsbruck in person in 2020? Never fear. Many of the events will be sent to the world through live coverage on the Internet.
