In Bergwang in the Tirol Zugspitz Arena, the beautiful outdoor swimming area Bärenbad is a truly invigorating experience on hot days. It is one of the highest altitude outdoor swimming pools in Tirol and is surrounded by beautiful forests.
Despite its altitude, the Freischwimmbad Bärenbad definitely has a summer feel to it thanks to its warm water and perfect location on a sunny plateau. The water temperature in the swimmers’ pool is 26°C, while the children’s pool with a fun stream and bear fountain has a water temperature of 28°C. The sunbathing lawn covers almost 10,000m2. The sports centre next to it includes a forest playground, bouncy castle, café and the chance to play mini-golf, beach volleyball and tennis. A popular highlight in July and August is moonlight swimming, when the pool is surrounded by flickering candles and burning torches. Access to the Freischwimmbad Bärenbad is free of charge for holders of the Z-Ticket or the Tirol Regio Card.
