Muttekopfhütte

The Muttekopfhütte (1,934 metres) is a popular Austrian Alpine Association mountain refuge in the protected area of natural beauty around the Muttekopf mountain above Imst in the Lechtal Alps, Tirol.

Welcoming cultural centre in a high alpine location
Austrian Alpine Club, Imst-Oberland Division

The lovingly renovated Muttekopfhütte is a special place to meet high above Imst, in the protected area around the Muttekopf mountain. Mountaineers, climbers and hikers all convene here, as well as pleasure seekers, nature lovers, culture enthusiasts and music buffs. With good reason, as the proprietors provide a diverse course and event programme with workshops, seminars, exhibitions and concerts. Not forgetting all the while, of course, that hikers need sustenance and relaxation - both of which can be found here in plentiful supply. Delicious Tirolean meals can be enjoyed in the pleasant dining lounge with traditional wood-burning stove or on the terrace with beautiful views. Comfortable overnight stays can be made in the attractive bedrooms as you dream of your next tour of the peaks. Well-known surrounding mountains: Muttekopf, Vordere Platteinspitze, Maldonkopf, Vorderes and Hinteres Alpjoch.

How to get to the Muttekopfhütte

From Imst and the Untermarkter Alm/Latschenhütte (1.5 hours) or from the top of the Alpjoch chairlift via the Drischlsteig trail (walking time: 40 minutes). More details on the hiking route.
