No, you don't need your own car. Tyrol has a well-developed public transport network and the Tyrolean regions are excellently interconnected. Some regions also offer their guests a special mobility concept. Many destinations can also be reached on foot or by bike from the accommodation, which has the advantage that the surroundings can be experienced up close. If you don't want to bring your own bike on holiday, you can hire an (e-)bike from many hotels or sports shops. Many regions also offer hiking and ski buses during the high season. There are also e-car sharing offers with daily rates for tourists as well as ÖBB Rail&Drive at Innsbruck, Jenbach, Landeck-Zams, Wörgl and Lienz.

A summer holiday in Tyrol without a car offers numerous advantages. The regions have excellent connections to the ÖBB, DB and SBB long-distance transport network as well as a dense network of cycle and hiking buses. With the guest card, public transport is included in many regions, and bicycle transport is also easily available in many places. Numerous hikes can be reached directly by bus or train, so you can travel stress-free and environmentally friendly without a car. In addition, many excursion destinations in the respective holiday regions can also be easily explored on foot or by bike, allowing you to experience the surroundings up close and in peace.

These Tyrolean regions offer excellent connections to the ÖBB, DB and SBB long-distance transport network as well as a well-developed ski bus network. Local transport is usually included with the guest card. Several regions in Tyrol are particularly suitable for a car-free winter holiday, as they are easily accessible by train. To avoid carrying heavy luggage, such as your own ski equipment, we recommend renting equipment locally and storing it in the ski depot at the mountain railway if necessary. Almost all regions offer free ski buses to the valley stations of the ski resorts. Some of these ski areas are even located in the immediate vicinity of a railway station.
