Now in its tenth year, this 3-day stage race across scenic Zillertal Valley attracts mountain bike riders of all abilities, recreational to racers with three different courses.
June 29, 2018 will see the 10th edition of the Zillertal Bike Challenge in Fügen. In this short time, the race has attracted many mountain bike riders of all abilities - recreational to racers, reflecting the popularity and position it has gained. This 3-day stage race is spectacularly concluded on the scenic Hintertux Glacier. The course has been laid out to make the event challenging but also thoroughly enjoyable: From the bottom of the valley at Fügen, the ride follows logging roads and singletrack trails to Zell am Ziller (day 1), across Übergangsjoch Col and Kreuzwiesenalm to Mayrhofen (day 2), and over Penkenjoch Col to Tuxer Fernerhaus Lodge on day 3.
The Zillertal Bike Challenge will present three different routes for riders of varying abilities: With 188 kilometers and 9,126 vertical meters, the “King/Queen of the Mountain” Competitions offer an extra challenge for those seeking a little more out of their day. Aptly named, “Prince/Princess of the Mountain” und “Lord/Lady of the Mountain” are what truly make the Zillertal Bike Challenge a most unique experience. Making use of uphill gondola rides, the two latter options have been a favourite for less experienced and physical fit riders, but beware, this shorter routes still live up to its name, it is a challenge - and fun!
