Description

Gallery for contemporary art in a seven-hundred-year-old medieval building in the old town of Hall in Tyrol.

The old town gallery Hall, established in 1993, captivates in many ways. On one hand, through the unique atmosphere of the medieval building, and on the other hand, through the consistent artistic direction of the exhibition program. The gallery spaces, lovingly and empathetically renovated, span three floors. Beautiful old rooms invite art appreciation and lingering. Here, wooden paneling contrasts with lime plaster walls and vaults. The terrace is mainly used for the presentation of sculptures in the open air. Throughout its existence, the dedicated gallery owner Hannes Niederlechner has succeeded in establishing an excellent reputation for figurative painting and sculpture for the gallery. The focus of the exhibitions is contemporary Austrian art. Graphics, oil paintings, and watercolors encompass themes such as landscape painting, still life, and figure painting. As a meeting point for collectors and art lovers, the old town gallery Hall celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2018.

Guided tours are offered continuously and based on demand.
