Unguided tour through the outer areas of the main castle: From the roundels on the west side into the courtyard and up the historic spiral staircase into the old living tower ("Palas") to the impressive views of the chapel roof and the 21 meter high keep.

Description

Burg Heinfels towers over the rock like a queen. The high castle has been completely restored over four years. Visitors can explore the extensive complex with battlements, courtyards, towers, and fantastic views on their own as part of the panorama tour. In the guided castle tour (fee applicable, registration required), castle chambers, halls, and the castle chapel are opened: History and stories are brought to life for young and old time travelers through models, animations, and interactive maps.

Dogs are allowed on the panorama tour, but only by request on the guided tours.

Guided Castle Tour
Visiting the interior spaces including the castle chapel, the modern museum with castle models, interactive maps, and animations is only possible with cultural mediators from the museum association. The tour also includes all panorama points, and free access to the special exhibition.
