Kloster St. Martin
Gnadenwald 1
6069 Gnadenwald
Already in the 11th century, a hunting lodge with a chapel in honor of St. Martin is said to have stood at this location. The first documented mention was in 1337. Later, a hermitage was founded here, which was inhabited by two forest brothers. In 1499, the nun Magdalena Götzner from Hall built a new structure as a convent with her daughter. From 1935 to 2019, the Tertiary Sisters of St. Francis from Hall lived in the long-vacant cells and ran a guesthouse here. St. Martin was restored in the years 1950 and 1957.
