Description

St Georgenberg Abbey was founded in the 10th century and went on to become one of the oldest and most important places of pilgrimage in Tyrol. Following several fires and the plague epidemic, the abbey was relocated to Fiecht in 1708. In 2019, the monastic community returned and has since been looking after the place of pilgrimage, welcoming pilgrims and visitors, and offering spiritual guidance.
