Description

The name "Teufelskapelle" (Devil's Chapel) already refers to the legendary place where the sacred building is located on the road between Gasteig and Griesenau.

According to oral tradition, the wooden chapel on a boulder with a wayside shrine on the side is about 500 years old. However, there are many indications that the chapel was only built in the 18th century.
