Weerer Muller
****
With joined forces against winter: The “Weerer Muller” are a group of people who – based on a deep-routed tradition – joined together to make sure winter makes room for his successor, the new spring, every year.
The colourful hustle and bustle - a UNESCO cultural heritage and highlight before spring - should not be missed. The records go back to the 17th century, when tall guys with heavy bells walked through the village on Carnival-Thursday and elicit dull sounds through rhythmic movements. A "bear of a man" one has to be who wears a big, 35 kilo heavy bell.
