The particularly child- and family-friendly Brunnsteinhütte is located at an altitude of 1,560 meters. Picturesque views over Mittenwald, to the Arnspitze and into the Wetterstein mountain range make the ascent a particularly exciting family experience. During the summer months, hiking guests can stay at the DAV hut from mid-May to mid-October. For the little ones, there is a playground and a child-friendly hut environment. The Brunnsteinhütte is operated as a comprehensive sustainable pilot project with environmentally friendly energy supply and waste management – educational not just for children!
OVERNIGHT STAY
In summer, the Brunnsteinhütte can accommodate a total of up to 22 people in cozy sleeping places. For families with children, there are 2 private family rooms available with a maximum of 4 places. Sleeping bags are mandatory, reservations are absolutely required in advance and are accepted exclusively via email. The hut is subject to the general DAV hut regulations.
STARTING POINT
Coming from the south on the B2, the Brunnsteinhütte parking lot is located about 2 km after the state border. Another parking option on the B2 is available at the hiking parking lot at the southern end of Mittenwald. Traveling by train is also uncomplicated. On the Innsbruck-Munich route, you can optionally reach the starting point from Scharnitz or Mittenwald. For this, approximately 30 minutes of additional walking should be planned in each case.
