Description

Surrounded by the picturesque backdrop of the Thalerjoch, Veitsberg, Ackernalm, and Sonnwendjoch, the alpine cheese dairy is situated at an altitude of 1383 meters above sea level. From here, you can look down to Hinterthiersee, with the Kaisergebirge mountains defining the horizon in the distance. The alpine dairy is located between Landl in the Thierseetal and Bayrischzell, two hours' walk from the toll barrier.

From June 1 to September 30, the cows graze on the alpine meadows and in good summers, they produce up to 300,000 liters of milk. Organic. The meadows are not sprayed with artificial fertilizers or pesticides, and the cows are not fed with concentrated feed to artificially push them to their performance limits. "What works, works." This tranquility, which the location exudes and which the cheesemaker conveys, is reflected in the harmonious taste of the cheese produced here. It is enhanced by the natural seasoning of the alpine herbs, which differ significantly from the valley feed. With the Tyrolean Emmental, the dairy has already won many silver and gold medals. But guests are also happy to walk two hours to taste the mountain cheese, alpine butter, and butter cheese.
