Route description

An impressive, not too difficult gorge via ferrata route has been developed which proceeds along the Pirkner Bach, at the eastern foot of the Hochstadel mountain. The highlight of this path is the steep section at the first  fortifications – next to the rushing waterfalls – when the sun shines the spray creates a rainbow! Numerous 'Postmans Walk' bridges (tight rope and slack rope) provide an additional thrill. Due to the short ascent and descent, this is an ideal activity for a morning or afternoon.

Please note – tackling the gorge can prove very dangerous in the event of sudden drops in temperature and when there are flood waters! On no account should you leave the via ferrata route and do not climb on the fortifications (very slippery – with a risk of falling).
