Starting at the Schwendt Cross-Country Ski Center, the trail begins with a somewhat steeper descent (Griesenau 10a feeder trail, difficulty level: red). The trail leads through the flat Kohlental valley along the Kohlenbach stream to Griesenau. It connects to the Kirchdorf trail network. If you want to skip the first steep section, you can also join the trail in Kohlental–Mühlau.
Walking route to the Kohlental trailhead: Pass the Mairwirt Inn on the left, then head downhill along the Moarweg to Mühlau.
