Thanks to the guaranteed snow due to the high altitude of the Paznaun Valley, the cross-country ski trails in Galtür and Ischgl are snow-sure from the beginning of December until well into spring, offering plenty of fresh mountain air even at spring-like temperatures at 2,000 metres above sea level and therefore ideal conditions for Nordic winter sports enthusiasts.
If you're already there, you should also eat from there, we think. These are our restaurant recommendations with regional cuisine.
The easiest way to get here is via Landeck-Zams railway station, from where regular buses run to the Paznaun towns of Ischgl, Galtür, Kappl and See. A free local ski bus system provides convenient connections to the cross-country ski trail entrances and winter sports facilities. Many accommodations are located directly on the cross-country ski trails or offer shuttle services and car parks, so you can be flexible and comfortable even without your own car.
