From “Steinbock.Welten” (Ibex World) to the Little Tibet - this bike tour with steep ascents and a beautiful lakeside section - has much to offer!
The starting point of Route 474 is Bärenbadalm alpine guesthouse in Zillergrund, from where it continues along an asphalt road through two tunnels and up to the top of the dam wall. Soak up the incredible panorama at an altitude of 1900 metres, with a stop at Gasthaus Adlerblick 1900 m. From here, the route continues north of the lake and through the works tunnel, on a challenging gravel path that leads deeper into the Zillergrund Valley. After a short but steep section, the trail flattens out somewhat and leads past the Plauener Hütte 2263 m material cableway and on to Hohenaualm, where you will have reached the end of the Zillergrund Valley and arrived at a magical place called Klein Tibet des Zillertals 1863 m. Take the same impressive route back for your return journey. The surrounding three thousand-metre peaks make this tour a particularly special experience.
Tip: Take a headlamp along for the tunnels!
