Mountainbike-Tour Bike Route Gaislach (644)

closed
Sölden / Ötztaler Alpen
Difficulty ratings: medium
Route length: 18.7 km
Duration: 3:04 h

Sölden can also be different - away from the lift-supported, well-frequented trails, this tour leads to the Gaislach Alm and Heidealm, at the foot of the Gaislachkogel. Traditional Tyrolean cuisine awaits you here.

Tour character

From Sölden, the route briefly follows the main road, then soon leaves it in the direction of Innerwald. Pass the hamlets of Außerwald and Innerwald for approx. 700 meters on the glacier road and then on an evenly ascending, asphalted path towards the Gaislach Alm and on to the Heidealm - both alpine pastures offer traditional Tyrolean cuisine. From the highest point of the tour, the middle station of the Gaislachkoglbahn, you can either take the asphalt road to the glacier road and continue into the valley or join the Sölden Long Trail.

Description

The start and finish point of the Gaislach mountain bike circular route is the Freizeit Arena in the center of Sölden. Facing the Freizeit Arena, you start to the right and follow the Ötztal Cycle Path 11 to the valley station of the Gaislachkogelbahn. Upon reaching the Gaislachkogelbahn, turn right to reach the federal highway B186, which you follow until the junction with the Glacier Road from the federal highway. From here, turn right up the steep Glacier Road; after two hairpin bends, leave the Glacier Road and follow the Infangstraße to the left. Here begins the steadily ascending path, initially still paved, towards Gaislachalm. At first, the forest provides some shade, but soon you reach the sunny alpine meadows.

The path takes you past the refreshments Sonneck, Gaislachalm, and Heidealm, up to the highest point of the route: the middle station of the Gaislachkogelbahn. Afterwards, an asphalt road leads you to the Glacier Road, which takes you back down to the valley.
