From the Kaiser Mountains, the route leads down to Kufstein, including the fortress and the much-sung-about green Inn. The soul is in a rocking mood today, as the route leads through a gentle alpine paradise with a sea of flowers. The motto of the day: we don't torture our calves, just our stomachs - there are so many places to stop for refreshments ahead of us. By the way, Saturday is Kiachal day at the Brentenjochalm.
Medium-difficulty stage on red mountain paths. Sure-footedness and basic alpine skills required for the summit ascent. Good physical condition is required.
Route description:From the Kaindlhütte, follow the Bettlersteig (AV-Weg 827) in an easterly direction. It leads above the Steinbergalm until it turns right below the Brandkogel over a ridge. There, at the fork, take the left-hand path towards Gamskogel. Below the Brandkogel and the Taxköpfl, the trail leads to the summit of the Gamskogel (1,449 meters). From there, follow the path further west. The trail descends steadily until you reach the Brentenjochalm (1,208 meters) after about two kilometers. Now take the Jochboden (panoramic trail), which leads downhill through the forest. Follow this to the right at the junction with the Schneerosenweg. Behind the middle station of the Kaiserlift, turn left onto the Brentenjoch/Duxer Trail. Above the Kienbach stream, the hiking trail leads down to Kufstein via Elfenhain. Follow Kienbergstraße and then Georg-Pirmoser-Straße to the Inn. Cross the bridge - and you have reached Kufstein railroad station.
