Wild. Romantic. Lonely. On the mountain heights between the Inn and Lech rivers, we move away from the crowds. We enjoy the peace and quiet and the untouched nature. We take in the impressive scenery and picturesque mountain lakes during our breaks, otherwise we concentrate on the path towards Steinsee Hütte. A glass of red wine and a pat on the back are appropriate today.
Demanding stage on black mountain paths. The route includes steep climbs and descents as well as challenging gravel sections. Slabs, boulders secured by ropes and exposed passages require very good surefootedness, concentration and fitness.
Route description: Follow the sign "Württemberger Haus" directly behind the Hanauer Hütte. A little later, the trail splits - we head in the direction of "Steinseehütte" (not "Württemberger Haus"). Just before the stream, the path splits again - here "Steinseehütte" is signposted twice. For the Hintere/ Östliche Dremelscharte, take route no. 625 (left). From now on, always follow the signs for "Steinseehütte". The route soon climbs up a steep slope and into the basin between Dremelspitze and Kleiner Schlenkerspitze. After crossing a scree slope, an immaculate path climbs steeply through a scree cirque towards the Östliche Dremelscharte. In the uppermost section, a narrow, rope-insured gully (scree) must be crossed.
On the other side, the trail leads steeply down through meadows and then gently descends past the Steinsee lake to the Steinseehütte. From the hut, descend again for a short distance, then climb gently up to the Steinkarscharte. Behind this, you cross grassy slopes and scree slopes before the trail climbs more steeply through rocks and then gravel to the Roßkarscharte. After the saddle, descend steeply in a narrow rocky gully (ropes), later in the slightly wider cirque on scree down into a basin. The route then crosses meadow slopes and scree slopes and climbs moderately. Finally, the route climbs steeply up to the Gebäudjoch. Beyond, on black earth on a poor, unsecured path steeply downhill and over to grassy slopes, which are crossed. Finally, serpentines down to the Württemberger Haus.
