Perhaps not roses, but an incredible wealth of ferns and mosses, animals and rocks in the Rosengarten Gorge still allows you to feel millions of years of the earth's history. Passing houses built into the rock, wooden walkways and rock tunnels, you will discover one of the most valuable biotopes in Tyrol.
Easy hike along well-maintained and secured paths and steps. Several waterfalls and colorful alpine flora along the way. Traces of mining can still be seen in the blue grotto, a small mine at the end of the tour.
Start the hike right in the heart of Imst at St. John's Church. After just a few steps, you will reach the so-called Schinderloch, where the houses were built directly into the mountain. You then enter the gorge. Experience the impressive backdrop of rushing waterfalls and the famous alpine roses, which adorn the paths with their blaze of color when in bloom. The path leads you through small tunnels that make the adventure in the gorge even more exciting. Pay attention to the natural beauty of the rock formations and be impressed by the variety of flora. Shortly before your destination, you will discover the Blue Grotto, a small mine that offers a unique insight into the history of the region. Admire the traces of mining and be enchanted by the mysticism of the grotto. Once you arrive in Hoch-Imst, you can refresh yourself at the Hoch-Imst natural lake before starting your return via the Wetterkreuz, where the view of Imst will enchant you once again.
The Sonne parking lot is located directly in the center of Imst, from here it is only a short walk to the entrance of the Rosengarten Gorge.
