Description

From the Gmade parking lot (alte Pointalm) on Hochschwendberg, follow the Zillertaler Höhenstraße to the small parking lot just before the toll station. From there, the first bends lead to hiking trail No. 318, which takes you to the Rastkogel Hütte, 2124 m above sea level. This path crosses the alpine meadows in the upper Sidan Valley before ascending to the hut. Alternatively, you can also reach the Rastkogel Hütte from the Melchboden parking lot. The return journey follows the same route.

You could optionally extend your hike by either following trail No. 302a towards Rastkogel, 2.762 m, or taking the Peace Trail first on trail No. 24 and then on trail No. 27 towards Kleiner Gilfert, 2.388 m.
