Description

Starting point is the square in front of the newly renovated church, with its Neo-Romanesque high altar and beautiful Neo-Baroque ceiling paintings. In the attic of the church is the largest bat colony in Tyrol. From there, continue along Kirchgasse and Dorfplatz, cross the main road, pass the Gasthof Fischerwirt, and turn right toward the Mariahilf Chapel, continuing up the Calvary Hill (Kalvarienberg). At the top, near the three crosses, a magnificent view of Lake Walchsee awaits.
The trail then climbs steeply through the forest in the direction of the Kugelwand – the local mountain. At the fork, turn right and follow a forest road eastward, descending until you reach the Hotel Panorama, where you can enjoy a breathtaking view. From there, you have the option to turn left to visit the Josefstal Chapels. Then continue downhill toward the main road (Bundesstraße). After crossing it, a short walk leads to the Nothegg Farm, notable for its impressive old wooden fence. After the farm, turn right toward Walchsee and stroll along the lake promenade back to the village center.
