Rare - and mysterious - are the inscriptions that were discovered in a rock cave on the way to the Gufferthütte less than a hundred years ago. Incidentally, they are the only ones in Tyrol to date and have not yet been translated.
Enduring day hike over moderately difficult paths and the mysterious Raetian inscriptions to the Gufferthüttte.
The tour begins at the car park Waldfrieden in Steinberg. First, follow the state road for about 500 metres towards Achenkirch until a forest road branches off to the right. Follow this road along the Weißenbach stream towards the Weißbachl Alm (not serviced). From there, a beautiful trail continues to the Schneidalm (also not serviced) and to the Rhaetian inscriptions - historical rock carvings from pre-Christian times. Then, walk towards Lubernalm and then to the Jägeralm (both not serviced). From the Jägeralm, the route leads down a forest road to the Gufferthütte. The return follows the same route back to the starting point or via the geological trail Obere Ampelsbach and Filzmoosbach Gorge.
