If you can't get enough of the sun, simply hike from the sunny plateau along the panoramic trail on the Bärenwald loop - and enjoy great views down to the village.
The easy Bärenwald loop above Steinberg am Rofan is a sunny panoramic trail with wonderful views of the village and the surrounding area. From the Steinberg parish church, the route leads through varied landscapes, past meadows, forest roads and forest paths.
From the parish church Steinberg, walk in a northerly direction past the two houses on the left. Descend to the Mühlbach and walk to the asphalt road. Turn left and walk past some houses to the next junction. After the last house, turn right. Then walk a short section on the forest road to the left. Before the signpost “Guffert” follow the driveway in the middle to the Bärenwald path. Follow this path until you arrive at the western incline of the Guffert (see signpost “Guffert”). Turn left and descend to the "Gasthof Waldhäusl", then turn left again and walk back to the parish church Steinberg.
Take the regional bus (line 4080 to Achenkirch, change to line 7801 to Steinberg) to the parish church Steinberg/municipal office. Get off at the stop: Steinberg a. R. Kirche.
From the Achensee main road (B181) in Achenkirch, turn onto the Steinberg state road (L221) towards Steinberg am Rofan. Follow the L221 for about 10km until you reach the village. The road leads directly to the parish church of Steinberg and the municipal office.
