Equipment

For the multi-day Rofan tour, we recommend lightweight but complete equipment. Start with a hiking rucksack (up to 40 litres) and rain cover, sturdy hiking boots, and essential weatherproof clothing, including rain gear, functional shirts, an insulating layer, and trekking trousers. Your basic packed items should include a travel sleeping bag, cash, a drink bottle, snacks, a pocketknife, a head torch, a first aid kit, sunscreen, a hiking map, toiletries, a small towel, and a mobile phone with emergency numbers. Consider optionally packing trekking poles, a softshell jacket, an emergency bivouac sack, earplugs, blister plasters, an Alpine Club membership card, hut slippers, and a bandana.

Description

The Rofan tour is a challenging multi-day hike where you explore the Rofan mountains which form the south-western part of the Brandenberg Alps. You'll cover around 30 kilometres, with overnight stays in cosy mountain huts. If you enjoy traversing rocky terrain like a chamois and hope to spot a marmot or two, this adventure is perfect for you.
