Description

The long-distance hiking trail in the Karwendel Silver Region invites nature lovers, culture enthusiasts and families to enjoy the magnificent landscape of the Karwendel Silver Region. Along the Tyrolean Silver Trail, you embark on a nature experience and a journey into the past of the 15th & 16th centuries - to a time when the Silver Region was known as the largest mining metropolis in the world. The history of the region runs like a "silver thread" through the entire route - thanks to our 12 information stations and numerous sights associated with silver mining in the communities.

Explore the Tyrolean Silver Trail digitally with the Locandy app - an interactive audio guide. With two different versions (for children and adults), the app opens up access to a world full of adventure, historical events and natural features - individually and at your own pace. While adults enjoy exciting background information and anecdotes, the children's version invites you on an exciting adventure in which Karwendolin and Karla Wendel need help to rescue the silver sparrows that have flown away from the sinister knight and bring them back to their nest. Equipped with the treasure map, which is available from the tourist office, a smartphone and headphones, everyone can jump straight into the adventure free of charge and discover the Tyrolean Silver Trail in a completely new, playful way.

Our snack stations along the Tyrolean Silver Trail regularly invite you to take a break. It is NOT possible to dispose of waste on site. However, the trail regularly passes public waste collection points. So take your garbage with you and dispose of it there. Do not leave any waste behind and keep the snack areas and paths in the region clean! Thank you for your support in protecting the mountain and valley nature.

A detour along the main road to the north takes you to the Jenbach parish church - a building dating back to the time of copper processing around 1450.
