Routine is slowly setting in, at least for the long-distance hikers who are on their ninth day of hiking. Packing their rucksacks is now a familiar routine, as is lacing up their hiking boots and the daily anticipation of the day's unknown. What will it be like, the route between Lamsenjoch and Falkenhütte? What encounters will we have and what will we eat?
Medium-difficult stage on red mountain paths. Sure-footedness and a head for heights are necessary at the start. The rest of the route sometimes follows wide forest paths. A good level of fitness is required.
Route description: From the Lamsenjochhütte hut, follow the trail a few meters back along the ascent route, but head in the direction of "Binsalm" or "Falkenhütte". The trail leads through the sloping terrain under the Lamsenspitze, gently descending to the western Lamsenjoch (1,940 meters). On the other side of the pass, descend on the path towards "Binsalpe" or "Eng". The path soon turns into a cart track. The route initially leads through open terrain and past the Binsalm Hochleger. In sections, there are then shortcuts on a path.
You reach the Binsalm Niederleger. From the Niederleger on a wide track and for some time practically parallel to a deeply incised valley down to the alpine village of Eng. Behind the last buildings in the Eng, the wide footpath to the Falkenhütte begins on the right. The path climbs gently and leads through meadows and mixed forest up to the Hohljoch (1,794 meters). From the yoke, descend on a good path below the Laliderer Wände to just under 1,700 meters. This crosses the Laliderer Reisen. The trail then climbs gently up to the Spielissjoch, the last few meters to the Falkenhütte are covered on a road.
