Mighty, tranquil, romantic - this is how stage 10 on the Adlerweg presents itself to hikers in a nutshell. The Laliderer Walls, at the foot of which the Falkenhütte is located, are mighty. The Ladizalm, which we pass, is tranquil and the sunsets at the Karwendelhaus are romantic. A hiking day straight out of a picture book - made in Tirol.
The moderately difficult stage on red mountain paths. Some passages require very good surefootedness and concentration. Some moderately inclined paths, cart tracks and forest trails. A good level of fitness is required.
Route description: To the north below the Falkenhütte, follow the signs for "Karwendelhaus" and hike gently downhill on a good path through alpine meadows. Later continue downhill along a cart track. Past the Ladizalm with its historic alpine hut and then down through the (sparse) forest (always stay on the cart path). After crossing the mostly dry, wide gravel stream bed, the route leads to the Kleiner Ahornboden and joins a wide forest road that leads directly to the Hermann von Barth monument and the old forester's houses directly above the monument. Follow the forest road to the left past the forester's houses uphill towards the "Karwendelhaus".
The forest road quickly turns into a cart track in the sparse forest and later into a path. The path then leads gently up through the lovely Untere Filztal valley, before heading into the alpine pastures (practically always in the same direction). A little later, the trail joins a road. Now continue on the road in the same direction through the meadows to the Hochalmsattel with the Jochkreuz. Then descend a few meters on the road and turn left to the Karwendelhaus.
