The experienced climbers on the via ferrata next to the waterfall strive upwards, while the water of the Dalfazer Falls plunges rapidly down the rock face. Both can be observed from comfortable benches.
An easy to moderately difficult, approx. 9 or 4-kilometre circular tour along forest paths and trails to the Dalfaz waterfall begins in Maurach or Buchau am Achensee. The water spectacle can also be perfectly combined with a visit to an alpine pasture and a ride on the Rofan cable car: After the waterfall, the route climbs steeply up to the Dalfazalm and then moderately to the Erfurter Hütte high above Lake Achensee. The tour can also be tackled in reverse so that you descend to the waterfall.
This tour starts from opposite the tennis court near the Atoll Achensee. Walk through the underpass of the Achensee main road and turn right in the direction of Buchau. Behind the Familienresort Buchau, follow the wide forest road through the high forest. After three switchbacks, you arrive at the junction of the waterfall trail. Turn left to the Dalfaz waterfall (viewing platform). The trail climbs gradually uphill by way of switchbacks past the Teisslalm (not serviced) to the Dalfaz Alm (1,693 metres). The return is via the same route.
Take the regional bus (line 4080 or 390) to Maurach, to the Atoll Achensee located on the lakeshore in Buchau. Get off at the stop: Maurach a. A. Atoll Achensee.
