What must an ideal fall walk have? Sunshine! Benches to rest on! Colorful trees! Views of snowy mountains! Our circular tour across the Telfer meadows and the Stockerhof has it all.
Easy, child- and age-friendly hike with few meters in altitude on wide paths. With the Habicht and the Serles, the view falls continuously on two Tyrolean character mountains, numerous benches along the way invite you to soak up the sun. The Stockerhof (open until the end of September) should be included in the tour. Especially in late autumn, long hours of sunshine and the golden-yellow larch forest are still tempting here. The Telfer Wiesen can be easily and impressively reached from Innsbruck by public transport on the Stubaitalbahn.
Telfes in the Stubai Valley was settled very early on - around 1,700 BC. Finds from the early Bronze Age, which were discovered not far from this site, in the area of the Gallhof, suggest this. The main reason for this is probably the fertile soil of the Telfer meadows. The name Telfes is also an indication of this. It is derived from the Indo-Germanic root "tellevo", which means "usable soil". Due to the location and the long periods of sunshine, the grass can grow particularly well here. Even today, the Telfer meadows are used exclusively for agricultural purposes and are among the most beautiful larch meadows in Tyrol. The abundant gentian blossom in spring is particularly impressive.
