The ski tour along the women's downhill run at Axamer Lizum is a varied route for anyone who wants to combine the ascent with a wonderful downhill experience. The tour is also particularly appealing as a night ski tour.
From the Axamer Lizum valley station, the ski tour heads uphill along the Damenabfahrt through the wintery ski resort. Following the edge of the slope, the route climbs steadily toward Hoadl, covering an elevation gain of about 700 meters. The ascent is steep in places and requires a good level of fitness, but it is rewarded with a magnificent panoramic view of the surrounding mountains. Once at the top, a varied descent down the Damenabfahrt trail back into the valley awaits. The tour is particularly atmospheric as a night ski tour: in the dark, with a headlamp, the ascent takes on a very special atmosphere, before the nighttime descent becomes an unforgettable experience.
A simple piste tour at Axamer Lizum ski resort along the Olympic ladies' run (piste no. 1) to Hoadlhaus.
Head south-west from the car park, along the piste to the reservoir. Pass the reservoir, and follow the scarp upwards. Then follow the left arm of the piste in diagonal fashion to the upper and wider section of the piste. Continue upwards across the rocky terrain, pass the Dohlennest hut and keep going up along the steep path to Hoadlsattel. Head north from here to get to Hoadlhaus.
