The market town of Brixlegg has many attractions for visitors, including Matzen Castle and its park grounds covering a total area of 17 hectares.
Brixlegg is also home to plenty of shops and boutiques as well as an award-winning restaurant, the Tiroler Weinstube. Sports enthusiasts have the chance to explore the surrounding landscape in both summer and winter. The Rofan Mountains with its iconnic peaks such as the Sonnwendjoch and the Sagzahn offer spectacular views of the area. On hot summer days there are a number of natural swimming lakes offering welcome refreshment. It is, therefore, no surprise that the region is known as the "bathtub of Tirol" thanks to its many lakes. In winter there is a free shuttle bus taking skiers and snowboarders to the nearby Ski Juwel Alpbach Wildschönau resort, which has more than 100 kilometres of pistes and three snowparks. Other popular winter activities away from the slopes include winter hiking and tobogganing.
