Elmen is a quiet settlement near the Hahntennjochstraße, a road connecting the Lechtal Valley to the Inntal Valley. Thanks to a series of approach roads the village itself is a haven of peace and quiet.
Visitors to Elmen will find a quiet village on the banks of the Lech river, with hiking and mountain bike trails leading up to traditional huts in the nearby Bschlabertal Valley. , One of the natural highlights in this region is the wetland area home to the largest population of lady's slipper orchids in Central Europe. This rare flower blossoms at the end of May and transforms the green meadows into a sea of colour.
In the evening the Musikkapelle Elmen brass band often puts on concerts in the village. There is also a local theatre. Outdoor activities include torchlit hikes up to the Stabalm hut, where hikers can enjoy a hearty buffet as the sun sets behind the mountains.
