Mariastein

With just under 400 residents and a surface area of only two square kilometres, Mariastein is the smallest municipality in the Kitzbühel Alps but draws many visitors thanks to its attractive pilgrimage church.

A total of 150 steps lead up to the church's chapel room with its famous gothic Madonna, a source of peace and inspiration for many pilgrims. This village at 575 metres above sea level also has plenty of other attractions. In winter it is just a short drive to the huge SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental ski resort, while in summer hikers enjoy the large network of walking and hiking trails giving access to some of the most beautiful spots in the Kitzbühel Alps.
