The small municipality of Vorderhornbach lies at the entrance to the remote Hornbachtal Valley, which branches off the larger Lechtal Valley. It is home to 250 residents.
Its quiet, sunny location surrounded by lush meadows and the steep slopes of the Lechtal and Allgäu Alps make Vorderhornbach a haven for outdoor sports enthusiasts and nature lovers. Popular activities in summer include hiking, mountainbiking, rock climbing and fishing, while in winter the Lechtal Valley has plenty of cross-country skiing trails and winter hiking paths.
On hot summer days the Erlebnisbad Badino open-air leisure centre in Vorderhornbach is the perfect place to cool off. The water in the natural outdoor pool is cleaned without any chemicals using natural filters and plants. The rest of the facilities, including the diving tower and play area, is also built from natural materials.
