Snowshoeing and Winter Hiking in the Tirol West Region

While for some people winter holidays are all about cruising the pistes during the day and hitting the bars at night, for others it is about getting away from it all for a few days. Those in the latter category should take a trip to the Tirol West region.

They will find exactly what they are looking for, with its activities including cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and winter hiking. Highlights suitable for the whole family include a visit to the Zammer Lochputz canyon and cross-country skiing high in the Kaunergrat Nature Park.

Tip! Winter is a peaceful time of year at the Kaunergrat Nature Park House. The plants and animals native to this harsh alpine environment are at rest. A thick layer of snow covers the forests and meadows. Accompanied by your guide, Walter, visitors can explore this beautiful nature reserve in the heart of the Alps and discover what makes winter such a special season. As a trained hunter, Walter knows how to identify tracks in the snow and will tell participants about the strategies used by animals to survive the cold months of the year. The guided hike ends at a roaring campfire.

A Snowshoe-Taxi provides transfer from your accommodation to the meeting place.
