The ski resort of Hochoetz is the proof that good things really do come in small packages. Its small size makes it ideal for families. While children learn to ski in the WIDI Kids Club, parents can explore the rest of the resort on their own.
The Hochoetz ski resort at the start of the Ötztal Valley is ideal for families and beginners. With its quiet slopes and relaxed atmosphere, it provides the perfect setting to learn to ski or simply cruise the slopes. Families with young children will particularly enjoy the child-friendly facilities Hochoetz has to offer, including WIDI’s Kids' Club – the perfect place for youngsters to take their first tentative turns on snow under the watchful eye of trained instructors. Older children and teenagers should head for the WIDI Funpark, where they can work on their tricks. The restaurant at the top of the resort in Hochoetz is a good place for all the family to meet up at lunchtime. As well as majestic views, it also features a children's restaurant, a kindergarden and a play area.
The children's trail next to the Ochsengartenbahn cable car is a great place for youngsters to learn more about alpine animals such as marmots, chamoix, etc. The nearby Therme Aqua Dome in Längenfeld offers total relaxation in its spa and swimming pools. Ice skating on the Piburger See lake is a popular activity for families in winter.
Special family deals. During the Happy Family Weeks all children under 6 years of age staying in the region for 7 nights receive a free ski pass and either a free five-day ski course or five days of free childcare.
Children's Ski Schools. Hochoetz has three snowsports school offering special courses for children: the Schneesportschule Mali next to the panorama restaurant, the Skischule Fischer at the bottom of the cable car and the Skischule AGE with its fun mascot "AGE". The friendly and professional instructors at these schools enjoy teaching children how to ski while at the same time having fun out in the snow.
